Snow Globes

We've been having fun this month!  Yesterday I went and got donuts for breakfast and the kids took some to their teachers.  Then today we made snow globes!  They turned out pretty cute, but just in case you have any plans for making these, I found that glitter worked much better than fake snow.  Much better.  I ended up dumping out the fake snow in all the globes except the Hello Kitty one.  And you can see it floating at the top above sweet little Kitty's head.  Also, it was really hard to seal the jars so they wouldn't leak. I ended up hot gluing around the lid.  A neighbor came home from school with us, so we sent the Nativity globe home with him.

All our supplies:  jars, Christmas ornaments (glued with epoxy to the lids), distilled water, glycerin, glitter, and fake snow (that didn't work!)

Spence's Robot snow globe and Allie's Hello Kitty snow globe

Nativity and Angel snow globes

This is the one we gave to our neighbors
This was a fun project, but there wasn't much for the kids to do, and I'm paranoid that I'll be sweeping up glass very soon!

Tomorrow night we are planning on going to our city's Christmas tree lighting.  Saturday we'll go cut down our own tree, and Sunday we're going to a Walk in Bethlehem at a nearby church.  Exciting activities!
