Today I got my hair cut! This was way overdue. I'd never left Allie for more than an hour, but since she had just eaten, I let her stay home with Mom and the boys. There was a bottle of milk I had pumped in the fridge in case of emergency, but Allie had never been offered a bottle before. When I walked in the door after my haircut, Allie was just starting to get upset. Mom had already gotten the bottle of milk warmed, so we tried to give it to her. She didn't want anything to do with it! That's fine. I think I would have been a little sad if she had taken to the bottle right away. Maybe in another month or so I'll try again!
Here are a few new pictures from this week.

Blog Makeover
How do you like the new look? When I first wanted to change the look of the blog earlier this year, I decided to pay someone for the makeover because Brian didn't have much extra time to mess around with it. Then things got hectic around here and the blog design just wasn't a priority. Brian and I were looking at new backgrounds this weekend and realized Blogger has made it simple to add all the gadgets we wanted. So voila! I especially like the pictures of the kids on the sidebar. And it's so easy to change out the pictures, so you never know what kind of crazy picture I might have up! Here's the latest conversation I had with Coleman.
Coleman: Does Allie have any teeth?
Mommy: No, not yet. You and Spence both got your first tooth when you were about 7 months old.
Coleman: How old is Allie?
Mommy: She's not even 2 months old yet. She'll probably get her first tooth in January around your birthday. But you never know, she might get her first tooth earlier.
Coleman: (in a singing voice) 'Cause babies are a mystery!!!

Funnies
Friday night the guys got back from the Astros game really late, so the boys were getting into bed around 11:30. Spence wouldn't stop talking even after they were in bed with the lights out. Finally Coleman got fed up and said, "Be quiet Spence! We need to get some rest!"
Spence's new thing at bedtime is to pray for everything in site. I've had to go downstairs to feed Allie before prayers for the last few nights, so Brian has been filling me in. Apparently Spence's eyes roam the room for possible things to be thankful for. Brian said last night it went like this:
Spence: Thank you God for our clocks. And our other clocks. And our other clocks. And our other clocks. And our other clocks.
And tonight after he thanked God for everything he could think of it went like this:
Spence: Thank you God for our wall. And our other wall. And our other wall. And our other wall.
Daddy: Go ahead and start praying Coleman. God can hear both of you at the same time.
Coleman: But you can't!
Daddy: I can, because he's just praying about walls now.
And the question of the day is from Coleman:
We were too busy laughing to answer that one.

New Look!
Blogger has recently made editing the blog a little easier. And Brian had some free time last night to make some changes! I'm going to make it my goal this week to get some good pictures of the kids so we can make a few more changes. Be on the lookout! But don't hold your breath. It can get a little crazy around here and I may not have any extra time.
It takes me forever to get dressed because I can't find anything that fits me and looks decent. It takes me forever to get Allie dressed because she has so many cute outfits I can't decide which one to put on her! Is there no end to a girl's wardrobe dilemmas? Here is the outfit I finally decided on for church yesterday.

Brian also was able to get a few more things done in Allie's room.
Aunt Jeanie sent this adorable sign. I found the perfect pink glass knobs to hang it from!

Where the Princess Will Sleep
The paint is done, the furniture is arranged, and the bedding is on. So I'll give you all a little peek at the princess' room! Rita and Gale bought the paint and painted with some help from my mom. I can't thank them enough! Allie's room has an angled roof which starts at 10 feet and goes up to about 18 feet. The three grandparents painted the ceiling white, 3 walls gray, and 1 wall pink in TWO DAYS!!! My mom will be making long curtains to hang behind the valances and recovering the rocker in a pink dragonfly material. We're also waiting for a construction company to reschedule and help Brian put in the new window. Then a few more finishing touches and the room will be complete! And Jeanie, we found the most adorable pink glass knobs to hang the sign from. I can't wait to get that up!
Astros Game
On Grandma and Grandpa's last night visiting, we had separate girls' night and boys' night out. The girls went shopping and the boys headed to an Astro's game. Here is the secret to making it through an entire baseball game with a 4 year old and 2 year old: keep the food coming and buy them big foam fingers!

Los Abuelos
When Rita is in town we always go get one of her favorite tacos from Los Tios. Abuela loves her Los Tios taco!!! We all had a yummy lunch. We only wish Daddy could have come with us. Since we ate Mexican food for lunch I thought I would try my hand at a little Spanish for the captions!

Allie's Baby Shower
Allie and I joined the family at church yesterday!
Ready for church!
My first church dress
Sweet big brother

Then in the afternoon my Sunday School class had a shower for Allie. She got so many cute outfits! And of course it's always fun to hang out with the girls and eat some good treats!

What a beautiful (and delicious) cake made by my friend Autumn
Some of the ladies at the shower
Grandma and Nana with their granddaughter

All the outfits Allie received were adorable, but wait until you see the best gift of all: Grandma and Grandpa and Nana painted Allie's room! It is beyond cute! I'll get some pictures soon. I think they will all be up for grandparent of the year.

One Month Old
And we still love the boys too! I promise the next post will at least mention their names and hopefully have some pictures of them.

Scrubba Dubba
Finally, a proper bath! Allie had her first bath on July 12. Babies can only have sponge baths until their umbilical cord falls off. Allie's fell off on July 4th, but the sponge baths were so easy that I put off getting out the tub for another week! And on a sentimental note, this is the same tub that the boys used and had their first baths in!

3 Weeks Old
Sweet Allie is 3 weeks old today! I can't believe it. It seems like just yesterday I was waddling around wondering if I was going to be pregnant forever! I couldn't have imagined having a sweeter little baby than Allie! Here are a few pictures of 3 week old Allie.
A church down the road from us opens their gym up every Wednesday afternoon in the summer for kids to come and have an air conditioned place to play. Today was our first time to go, and the boys had such a great time! I took a few pictures of Coleman playing basketball, but none turned out. Here's a picture of Spence on somebody else's ride on toy.

Still Loving Their Sister
Today we went to a playgroup. It was so nice to get out of the house and let the boys play with their friends. And I got to talk to adults! That's always nice. Here are a few pictures from this afternoon at home.

July 4th
We celebrated the 4th of July with our Sunday School class at a pool party. It was Allie's first social event! She just slept and ate through it. Brian and the boys spent most of the party in the pool. Coleman is such a little fish! He even dove off the diving board!

And I learned a valuable lesson this year: You don't go shopping for July 4th t-shirts on July 3rd! Hope you all had a great 4th. What a blessing to live in a free country!

Going Up?
Today Coleman was coloring a picture that said "One way", "Jesus", and "Heaven."
Coleman: What does that mean?
Mommy: There's only one way to get to Heaven and that's by believing in Jesus.
Coleman: There's not an elevator?
And Allie had her 2 week checkup today. She weighs 9 lb 1 oz and is 21 1/8 inches long. That's the 75th percentile!
