Watch Out, Michael Phelps!

Guess what we've been doing the past few weeks? Taking swimming lessons!

Coleman and Spence started swimming lessons on July5th and finished on July 23rd. They had 8 lessons with Miss Katie. She did an awesome job teaching them. Coleman learned the freestyle, the elementary back stroke, and began learning the breast stroke. He also did some diving. Spence had fun learning his arm motions by pretending to scoop ice cream! And he learned that his body goes into different positions that look like a chicken, an airplane, and a soldier when he does the back stroke!

Allie couldn't stay out of the pool either!

Coleman has always been a little fish, and now he's becoming a really good swimmer! And now Spence knows some of the basics and should be ready to learn a lot more next summer. I think Allie may be more like Coleman when it comes to the water. She seems to have no fear and enjoys being in the pool!

Amanda, I remember taking Charity to swim with your mom in your family's pool. Carolyn and I could both swim but not good enough to carry Charity in the water. We would take turns pushing her to the side if she got nervous after jumping off the board. It was so funny. She was always a little fish, too.
