Meet Our Tree

We finally got our Christmas tree this weekend! No, it is not decorated, but it's in our house. The good thing about waiting so late to get your Christmas tree is that they go on sale! We were able to get one about 2 feet taller than usual because they were 25% off. We've gotten a "real" tree every year since we got married. This was a new tradition for me. I always thought Christmas trees came from the attic! It's kind of new for Brian too. He was used to a real tree, not a "real" tree. Real trees are ones you go into the mountains and cut yourself. A step down from the real tree is the one you go to a tree farm and cut down. Then the "real" tree, like ours, is the one you go to Lowe's or Home Depot and point to and the guy in the red vest or orange apron (depending on which home improvement store you're at) wraps in netting and helps you tie to the roof of your SUV. My Montana man has to make sacrifices to live here in suburbia. When the boys are a little older we'll probably start going to a tree farm. At least that will be a little more adventurous!

So many trees to choose from!

Helping Daddy pick just the right one

Look how tall it is!

Also, the siding and roof are finished! It looks like we have a new house. I'll have to post some pictures soon!

It looks beautiful...and the family looks like they had a fun time picking it out....being together, deciding...they are the memories that are dear....

Happy decorating..

P.S. We always put the tree up when I was a child on my Dad's birthday..after his birthday party...Dec 14...so you are not late...the rest of the world is EARLY!!

The McCalls were telling us on about a family that had a bat in their tree that they got from a farm. So you might want to deter Brian from fulfilling that dream. A bat in my house would be a little scary.

WOW! I'm so lazy...just thinking about someone having to put lights on a tree now just makes me want to go to bed:) We're all for the pre-lit fake trees here!

That's a beautiful tree, though. Can't wait to see it all prettied up. I'm so glad you're roof and siding are finished. I know that's a huge relief!

Just thinking of the bat story. The other night a bird flew in the house and hid in the tree (fake tree). After we scared him out of there he went from plant to plant on the plant ledges until we finally scared him back out the front door. Doesn't happen often, or ever, but a bird in a fake tree. Ha Ha What an exciting night.
