It's not recorded in scripture, but maybe the angels did sing "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands." It would have been appropriate. We do know that they praised God and said,
"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests."
The name of Jesus I've chosen for today is:
Hope of Glory
To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27
It's no mystery anymore! Christ is our hope. And this hope does not disappoint (Romans 5:5). What a glorious thought during this season. Hope. Not wishes or maybes. I may have a hard time feeling the Christmas spirit today because it is supposed to be 80 degrees. But I will focus on the Hope of Glory, and know that He is what Christmas is about.
Back to the 80 degree temperatures, I'd like to share some things with those of you who are unfamiliar with winter in South Texas.
- Yesterday in Wal-Mart I saw a gift set of matching fuzzy slippers and flip flops.
- My kids think the only reason you close the door is to keep mosquitoes out. Yes, there are still a few mosquitoes flying around.
- You see Christmas sweaters in all the stores, and you buy them, but you can't wear them! Next year I'm seriously looking into Christmas tank tops for the boys.
