Long Lost Hotwheels and Crunchy Milk

What do you get when your refrigerator quits working? Long lost Hotwheels and crunchy milk. Yesterday morning we noticed that the milk was not quite as cold as it should have been. Throughout the day, the contents of the refrigerator got warmer and warmer. Brian spent about 3 hours online and in the fridge trying to diagnose the problem. He was pretty sure he knew what was wrong, and about 5:15 called to consult a repairman. He instructed Brian to use a hairdryer to defrost the whateveritwas. That seemed to do the trick. The repairman said that the hairdryer trick could possibly fix the problem, but if not to call him back. So far so good. While the fridge was moved out from the wall, 3 long lost Hotwheels were recovered. Coleman looked at them and said, "New cars!!!"

This morning Coleman wanted cereal with milk. We told him there was no milk, but he insisted on having Daddy cereal with milk. Brian remembered that we had some powdered milk and mixed some of that up and poured it on Coleman's cereal. Coleman took a few bites and then wasn't eating the cereal. When Brian asked him why, Coleman said, "I don't like that crunchy milk." Apparently the powder hadn't dissolved completely.

This is the second Sunday of Advent. The peace candle has been lit. So this is the name of Jesus I've chosen:

Prince of Peace

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

There are several names in there, and they are all great. But there's something about Prince of Peace. Maybe because we live in a non-peaceful world. There is crime, violence, and war all around us. To know that Jesus is our Prince of Peace is very comforting. We can have peace even in the darkest of circumstances, but only through Jesus. I pray that you are finding peace in Him today.
